New Delhi: Under the newly amended Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. (UAP), India declared Dawood Ibrahim, Masood Azhar, Hafeez Saeed and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi as terrorists. India declares Azhar, Dawood and Saeed as terroristsIndia demands the terrorists involved in the saboteur activities in its country be declared as terrorists by the United Nations (UN) and the international community. However, the Indian laws lacked the clarity required in the matter. Even though there was a provision to declare an organisation as a terrorist organisation, the Indian laws lacked the provision to term an individual a terrorist. Union Home Minister Amit Shah tabled the amendment in the parliament underscoring the flaw. Shah said that it would enable effective action against terrorists and that they would not be able to set up new terrorist groups.

The parliament passed the amendment on 24th of July. Within a month of the amendment, the Indian government has declared infamous smuggler Dawood Ibrahim, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar, Hafiz Saeed from Jamaat-Ud-Dawa and Zaki-ur-Rehman-Lakhvi as terrorists.
