Pakistan blocks social media after violent protests rock country

Islamabad: Pakistan, rocked by the Tehreek-e-Labaik protests, ordered the blocking of social media on Friday. The protest crisis in Pakistan has still not been averted. But the Pakistan government and the security agencies are still in a state of panic. Pakistan ordered the telecommunications department to shut down social media in an attempt to stop messages from being circulated to the Labaik supporters. The main Labaik demand is the expulsion of the French Ambassador from the country. Pakistan government has clearly said that this demand cannot be met. The Labaik supporters in London have demonstrated their strength with the protests outside the Pakistan embassy there.
