Pakistan always kept Hamid Karzai and Ashraf Ghani governments destabilised, using the Taliban. After the US military withdrawal, the Taliban took over power in Afghanistan. Pakistan thought that now they could rule Afghanistan. There were celebrations in Pakistan for this anticipation. Hameed Mir has warned that now the situation has completely changed.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had two main expectations from the Taliban: the Taliban should hand over the Tehreek-e-Taliban terrorists, responsible for saboteur activities in Pakistan, in exchange for all the cooperation extended by Pakistan to the Taliban till date. Pakistan also wanted the Taliban to take an amicable stand on the dispute over the Durand Line. The Taliban has not fulfilled any demands of Pakistan. Hameed Mir claimed that the Taliban is no longer taking orders from Pakistan.

The Taliban regime is not willing to pay heed to the concerns raised by Pakistan. Instead, the Taliban has flatly refused to accept the Durand Line. Taliban is also preparing to build 30 posts on the Durand Line to stop the activities of the Pakistan military. Hameed Mir said, ‘This means that the Taliban is breaking the shackles of slavery without assistance from any other country.’ It was directed to Pakistan’s Prime Minister, who had made the claims of the Taliban liberating Afghanistan from the shackles of US slavery.
