In a video released, Yahya Sari, the spokesman of the Houthi rebels in Yemen, declared that attacks were launched on the Shaybah Oil Project, near the border of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The Houthi rebels’ spokesman said that an attack was launched with 10 drones loaded with bombs and claimed that this was the biggest attack carried out so far.

Houthi rebels from Yemen attack Saudi oil projectsYahya Sari justified the attacks saying ‘These attacks were carried out in retaliation of the war declared by Saudi Arabia, against the Houthi rebels’ government in Yemen and the people of Yemen.’ At the same time, Yahya Sari also warned ‘The people of Saudi should keep away from crucial locations. Soon the intensity of the attacks will increase further, and dreadful attacks will be carried out, even in far-flung regions.’

Saudi had claimed that the oil project did not suffer any losses in the attack. But the agencies informed that within the next few hours, a fire broke out in certain parts of the Aramco oil project and it was brought under control. This is the second drone attack on a Saudi oil project. Before this, in May, Houthi rebels had declared that they had carried out a drone attack on two Saudi pipelines in the Red Sea region.

Meanwhile, since the last four months, the Houthi rebels have been carrying out drone attacks on Saudi airports and military bases. Saudi is claiming that the Houthi rebels are carrying out attacks loading bombs and explosives on the Iranian made drones. At the same time, Saudi accused Iran of challenging its security with the help of the Houthi rebels. In this scenario, the Houthi rebels have added to the concerns of Saudi Arabia and its allies by carrying out drone attacks on the Aramco oil Project and threatening to increase the intensity of the attacks.
