New Delhi: As per the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The world is one family), India has so far provided medical aid to 120 countries around the world. India is now recognised as the ‘Pharmacy of the World’. Not only that, but India produces about 2,00,000 PPE kits every day, proudly said Indian Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal at the G-20 Summit. On Thursday, the G-20 Summit took place through a video-call conference, wherein the commerce ministers of member nations held a discussion. At the time, Piyush Goyal imparted information about India’s contribution in helping fight the Coronavirus.
The issue of Coronavirus was primarily discussed in the G-20 Summit. At the time, Goyal appealed to the G-20 member nations to make extensive efforts to make available the necessary medicines, remedies and vaccinations. He also expressed his concern to do away with the hurdles that cause the supply of essential services and products to cease. Other member countries also expressed their concerns in this G-20 Summit. The Summit also comprised discussion on trade and co-operation.
Meanwhile, Minister Goyal also informed that the ‘Emergency Fund’ procured by India has been utilised to provide medical aid to the neighbour. Moreover, this pandemic has caused inconvenience to experts, employees and students from around the world. Thus, Minister Goyal also appealed to find a way to resolve such problems.
