Jerusalem: – It is being claimed that the nuclear deal between the United States and Iran is at a decisive stage. Biden administration in the United States is optimistic about the deal. But, Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz has warned that if the nuclear deal falls through and Iran continues with Uranium enrichment, Plan B would have to be activated to stop Iran. The economic and diplomatic pressures will have to be increased on Iran. Besides, action against Iran-backed terrorist organisations also will have to be intensified.
Moreover, given the changing scenarios in Europe and the Gulf regions, Israel convened a meeting of Ambassadors from 80 countries. Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Defence Minister Benny Gantz presented their country’s security-related stand. While criticising the Iran nuclear deal, Defence Minister Gantz said, this is travelling against time. The Israeli Defence Minister cited the developments in the Iranian nuclear program since August last year and the talks being simultaneously held in Vienna.
Since August, Iran has taken stock of 60% enriched Uranium from 10 kilograms to 50 kilograms. Gantz accused Iran of carrying out this work in the secret Fordo nuclear project. Israeli Defence Minister accused that this Iranian activity violates international regulations. At the same time, Gantz suggested that the western countries should not fix a validity period for the agreement. The Israeli Defence Minister pointed out that this will allow Iran to continue with the nuclear program in whatever way it wants after the expiry of the period of the nuclear deal.
Gantz said that Western countries should keep the Iranian nuclear and missile program under tight vigil. Gantz pointed out, ‘If Iran is unwilling to accept these demands and the nuclear deal falls through, plan B will have to be activated to stop the Iranian nuclear program.’ The Israeli Defence Minister appealed that the international community should unite to increase Iran’s economic and diplomatic pressures.
The feeling of insecurity is growing in the Middle East countries regarding the nuclear deal being signed between the United States and Iran. The effects of the pro-Iran policies of the Biden administration are affecting the Gulf countries. Therefore, Gulf counties have decided to cooperate with Israel. Besides, the participation of the Arab countries Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco, along with Israel, in the Negev security summit has become significant. Representatives from 80 countries participated in the meeting convened by Israel after that. Therefore, it is becoming clear that a huge political and strategic front is being formed against Iran.
