Indian Army firmly in control of ‘northern frontier’: Eastern Command commander Lt Gen Kalita

Kolkata: Eastern Army Commander Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita assured that the Indian Army was in full control of the northern border. This testimony of Lt. Gen. Kalita became important after the Chinese Army attempted infiltration along the LAC in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. At the same time, reports have surfaced that the Indian soldiers taught a lesson to the Chinese soldiers who had come to infiltrate in the number of 300 that they left their materials there and ran away. A senior army officer informed some of their materials had fallen into the hands of the Indian Army.

Northern Frontier in complete control of Indian Army - Eastern Command Chief Lieutenant General R P KalitaIndia won a major victory in the 1971 war with Pakistan on December 16, and subsequently, Bangladesh was created. Therefore, December 16 is celebrated as Victory Day in India. Speaking at a ceremony organised on this occasion, Eastern Army Commander Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita clarified that the Indian Army has complete control over the northern frontier. Earlier, the military officers and the defence minister had announced in the parliament that the Chinese Army had not been able to take even an inch of India’s land. On the contrary, Indian soldiers had forced Chinese soldiers to withdraw from the LAC in the Tawang sector, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Former army officers have also consistently said that the Indian Army had given a befitting reply to China’s actions. In an interview, former Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane claimed that China had suffered a huge loss due to the Galwan conflict. The Indian Army has clashed with mighty China and claims this has dented China’s international image. India has shown the world that it can stand firm against China, which threatens its neighbouring countries. Due to this, other countries have begun to believe that they could take a stand against China, said the former Army Chief. It was unfortunate for the Indian Army to use barbed wire against China along the LAC. Moreover, India wants to build a 21st-century army, which becomes inconsistent with that. But Naravane criticised that China’s Army considered strong, had to behave like a goon. This was even more pathetic.

Meanwhile, varied information about Tawang’s LAC has been given on social media.

It was claimed on social media that the news of Chinese soldiers being beaten up in the Tawang sector was being shown on Taiwanese news channels. Simultaneously, it was claimed that India had achieved great success against China on the diplomatic front. Besides, the US and Russia, including other countries, have also shown their support for India, not the intruding China. Some Pakistani analysts have claimed that this clearly shows India’s increasing political influence, proving lethal for Pakistan and China.
