Mohammad Siddiqui had claimed that he was Aafia’s brother. He has been making these announcements ever since he entered the synagogue of the Jews. Mohammed Siddiqui also claimed that Israel was responsible for the action against Aafia Siddiqui. Mohammed demanded the release of Aafia Siddiqui in exchange for releasing four Synagogue hostages. However, Texas police responded quickly, killing Mohammed Siddiqui and freeing the hostages. This has once again exposed the terrorist connections of Pakistan.

Aafia Siddiqui was sentenced by a US court to 86 years in prison, in 2010, for plotting an attack on US troops in Afghanistan. Siddiqui, a neurosurgeon, studying in the United States, works for Al Qaeda. Aafia was arrested in 2008 in Afghanistan. There was a major backlash from Pakistan over her sentencing in the US. The then Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani had claimed that Aafia was a daughter of Pakistan. The extremists in Pakistan had rallied for the release of Aafia.

A group of Pakistanis living in the US had attacked the prison where Aafia Siddiqui was kept and plotted to release her. One person was arrested in the case and sentenced to 22 years in prison. Now, the action taken by Mohammad Siddiqui for the release of Aafia has once again underlined the importance of this case.

The American Enterprise Institute’s thinktank said that this proves how deep-rooted terrorism is in Pakistan. US President Joe Biden also had to take cognisance of the issue. The matter is under investigation and more information will follow. But President Biden has said that extremism will be stopped by cracking down on anti-Semitism. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said the case shows that anti-Semitic hatred still exists. Prime Minister Bennett called on the international community to fight worldwide against this.
