Tehran – Coronavirus is playing havoc in Iran and the pandemic has claimed 134 lives in the last 24 hours. 3,294 patients have died in Iran, so far. Reports were published of Ali Lajirani, speaker of the Iranian parliament, contracting the Coronavirus infection had been published. In the last 24 hours, 2,715 new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Iran. The number of cases has reached 53,000, in one month. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed a fear that considering the spread of Coronavirus in Iran, it is unlikely that the pandemic will come under control at least for one year. Ali Lajirani, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, confirmed that he had Coronavirus infection, on Thursday. Currently, he is under quarantine. Before this, Iranian Vice President, Advisor to the Iranian supremo Ayatollah Khamenei and a few parliamentarians had contracted the Coronavirus infection. Meanwhile, Iran is facing difficulties in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic because of the US sanctions.
