California/Beijing: – China has expressed annoyance over the war exercises being held by the US defence forces in the East Pacific region. During the practices, a picture of MQ-9 Reaper drone was shown against the background of the Chinese map, on the shoulder patch of the US air force officials. China accused that by displaying the Reaper drone on the shoulder patch, the United States has made preparations to attack the Chinese islands in the South China Sea. The Chinese government mouthpiece threatened that in such a scenario, the reaper drones would be reduced to cinders, and these drones will not be able to face the Chinese military technology.
From the 3rd of September, the US navy and air force started war exercises, Exercise Agile Reaper, in the Californian marine region. Aircraft carriers, submarines, destroyers, fighter and surveillance aircraft and a unit of marines are participating in these exercises being held with the US 3rd Navy. Since the last one month, various methods of capturing the St. Clement Island are being practised. The MW-9 Reaper drones are also participating in the exercises, and these drones are launching an attack on the island. Photograph of the US Air Force unit handling these drones also has been published. In the picture, it is seen that there is a reaper drone having a targeted flight over a red Chinese map on the shoulder patch of the officials.
The picture on the shoulder patch of the fighter pilots is always considered to deliver a message. Therefore, it is being claimed that the United States has issued a warning to China, showing the Chinese map and the reaper drone on the shoulder patch. The Chinese mouthpiece has taken note of this and has expressed annoyance over the issue. Global Times criticised, ‘The United States is preparing to declare war against China. The United States has delivered the message through these war exercises that the reaper drone, known to carry out massacres in the conflicts around the world, may be used by the United States in this war against China. Fu Qianshao, a Chinese military analyst, said in an interview with a newspaper that China is not scared of the Reaper drones.
The US Reaper drone does not have stealth technology, and it flies so low that it can be easily targeted from the ground. The United States has used these drones in counter-terrorism missions. The Chinese mouthpiece reminded that the Houthi rebels in Yemen and Iran have shot down these drones many times. Qianshao warned that therefore, if the United States tries to start a conflict in the South China Sea using the drones, it will be considered as a declaration of war and the United States will have to pay a dear price for it. The Chinese government mouthpiece threatened that China could very easily target US drones. Therefore, the United States should reconsider the thought of aggression in the South China Sea of using Reaper drones.
