US Supreme Court lashes out at Biden Administration over immigrant policy

Washington: The US Supreme Court has slammed the Biden Administration over liberal immigrant policy. President Biden wanted to implement a policy restricting the number of refugees deported from the US. However, the US Supreme Court has ordered this policy not to be executed. This is the second instance in a month that the Biden Administration faced the courts over its stand on illegal immigration.

He blamed former President Trump’s policies regarding immigration and called it a dark period in US history. As soon as he came in power, Biden immediately revoked the Remain in Mexico and Article 42 policies implemented by Trump. Biden also proposed a bill to grant US citizenship to more than 10 million illegal refugees.

However, Biden’s decisions are being constantly challenged in the US courts. In August last year, the US Supreme Court issued an order to reinstate President Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy. Now the third policy of Biden has also received a blow from the US Supreme Court.

The Biden Administration has issued an order to restrict all illegal refugees from getting deported from the US, instead prioritising those with criminal backgrounds to be deported. The next hearing will be held in December.

Former President Trump had adopted a tough and aggressive stand against illegal immigrants. He initiated building the Mexican Wall and implemented Remain in Mexico policy to prevent immigration from the Mexican borders. This resulted in a massive reduction in the number of immigrants.

However, since Biden took over, more than 1 million illegal immigrants have entered the US, per published reports.
